ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS

Q: What equipment will I need?
A: Whilst not an exhaustive list we suggest you bring the following: comfortable, worn in
walking shoes or boots, shorts and trousers to walk in, walking socks, lightweight t-shirts, long
sleeved shirt, lightweight waterproofs, sun hat/cap, sun screen, sunglasses, day sack, blister plasters,
small first aid kit, water bladder or bottle, mosquito repellent, swimsuit, camera, binoculars.

Q: What weather can I expect?
A: The weather in the spring and in the early autumn should be predominantly sunny and
warm, as we walk a fair amount in mountains there is always the possibility of rain.

Q: How do I get from the airport to Aghios Nikolaos?

A: From Kalamata airport we suggest that you either arrange a taxi (which we can arrange on your behalf) or, hire a car from the airport for the week, all major car hire firms are present at the airport.

Q: What food can I expect?

A: Breakfast will be supplied in your self catered apartment and will be a selection of cheese
and cold meat, fresh eggs, fresh bread daily, preserves, yoghurt, fruit, tea & coffee.

A: Lunch will be either a freshly made picnic eaten on our walk, or we will be stopping at a local
taverna for a light lunch. Greek cuisine has a large and varied selection of vegetable dishes so
vegetarians and pescatarians are well catered for. Other dietary requirements such as gluten
intolerances can be catered for on picnics.

A: Evening meals will be your own choice – probably at one of the excellent tavernas in Aghios

Nikolaos, with the exception of one evening meal which we will take as a group in Thalames.
